Digital transformation and disruption have made it increasingly important for managers to understand the applications of using data to make informed decisions. Managers must make complex decisions to enable organisational success. The abundance of data generated by organisations can be confronting for managers particularly on how to use data to make optimal decisions. This unit introduces a data analytics cycle to empower managers in using data to generate insights and execute decisions. Students will learn how fallacies in data can lead to the formulation of incorrect conclusions and potentially suboptimal decisions. This unit describes the importance of analysis and visualisation of data to make effective managerial decisions with reference to reports and dashboards.
