Your online support

The way you learn is as important as what you learn, which is why your course is grounded in practical industry-relevant study – using real-world case study examples and simulations – and led by educational design academics who have developed influential theories accepted around the world.

Your units are built from the ground up to reflect this. You will learn pedagogical design principles that underpin dynamic online educational experiences that are also applicable to non-digital contexts.

At Monash, we understand that the time before you begin studying is crucial. You might feel nervous or unsure about what to expect from your first teaching period.

That’s why we offer a range of support services and resources to help make your transition to an online student as smooth as possible.

Welcome Call

Once you’ve enrolled with Monash online, you will receive a welcome call from one of our friendly student advisers. They will help prepare you for your first teaching period and answer any questions you may have.

Seamless onboarding

Before your first teaching period begins, we’ll keep in touch via email. We’ll help you set up your student email, access the Student Hub and Moodle, and learn about the available study resources.

Get a head start

Monash online has a range of opportunities to help you get a head start before your first teaching period. You can complete pre-teaching period study support modules that will introduce you to your learning platforms. You will have the unique opportunity to preview your unit content before your first week.

Just because you’re studying online, it doesn’t mean you’ll be all alone. With Monash online, you’ll have a team of people supporting your every step. They’ll guide you through your course progression, your units and any technical issues you may have. Available seven days a week, you can contact them at a time that suits you.

Student advisors

Monash online’s dedicated student advisers assist you with enrolment and course progression queries. They will also help you with any academic skills and technical issues.

Teaching staff

Your teaching staff are your subject matter experts in each of your units. They will guide you through your weekly modules and assessments and regularly interact with you to provide advice and feedback.

Student Hub

Using your Student Hub, you can access all your online resources, track your course progression and contact your support teams. The Hub is available to you whenever and wherever you need it.

LearnHQ

As a Monash student, you will also have access to LearnHQ, where we support you through one-on-one consultations, learning resources and workshops that enhance all your academic needs.

Your student community

Don’t forget, you will also have a whole student community behind you while studying online. You can connect to your community through discussion boards in each unit and make meaningful connections with others in your industry.

Regular live sessions

Your teaching staff will deliver regular live Zoom sessions to help you understand how your unit content feeds into your assessments. These sessions will show you how your learning works in practice and allow you to connect with your peers.

When you graduate with Monash you’ll join a global alumni network, and it doesn’t stop there.

FAQS

Monash Online provides Student Advisers, Online Learning Advisers and study assistance tools to all students.
Online teaching staff provide dedicated support via email, discussion forums and regular live sessions.  Students are welcome to post general and topic based questions in their unit discussion boards, to discuss the course content with academics and students within your course community. For individual or personal questions, students can contact their teaching staff directly via email.
The Monash Online student advisers are your first port of call when you need support. The student adviser team is available seven days a week to assist with queries about your enrolment, academic skills and technical issues. 
Depending on your unit, group work may be required for some units. Check your unit outline or contact your online learning adviser (OLA) for clarification. If you need support for group work or are having issues, contact your OLA for support.
