Description:

This unit is focused on human factors in learning analytics. Throughout it, students will be introduced to designing systems and user interfaces in learning analytics, with an emphasis on approaches that promote ethical, equitable and inclusive participation of relevant stakeholders through different phases of implementation.

The unit will provide students with relevant techniques and tools for design, evaluation and appraisal of systems, user interfaces, learner experiences in education and data storytelling. Importance will be given to ‘human-in-the-loop approaches for the use of data science in learning analytics.
