Duration: 6 weeks
Contact Hours: 20-24 hours of study per week
Credit Points: 6
Build your understanding of the neurobiological mechanisms responsible for human cognition and behaviour, with a focus on understanding leading methodology and technologies employed in brain-behaviour relationships. In ‘Neuroscience of cognition and behaviour’ you will have the opportunity to explore brain-behaviour interactions through an in-depth examination of a selection of cognitive abilities and behaviours. Establish your understanding of the mechanisms behind cognitive control and social cognition, control of action, perception, sleep and pain, and acquire a sound understanding of the technologies neuroscientists use to study cognition, including: magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), electroencephalography (EEG), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
